Reflection
True peace doesn't come from circumstances—it comes from a Person. Jesus offers us His own peace, a peace fundamentally different from what the world can provide. The world's peace depends on everything going well; Christ's peace endures even when everything seems to fall apart.
Notice that Jesus doesn't just promise peace in the abstract. He says "My peace"—the very same peace that sustained Him through betrayal, suffering, and death. This peace is personal, intimate, and freely given. It's not something we earn or manufacture; it's a gift we receive.
Today, consider what sources of peace you've been relying on. Are they temporary comforts, or the lasting peace of Christ? The invitation is clear: receive His peace, and let it quiet every troubled and fearful corner of your heart.
Guided Meditation
Close your eyes and take three slow, deep breaths. Imagine Jesus standing before you, His hands extended. He speaks gently: 'Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you.' Feel the warmth of His presence. With each breath, receive His peace a little deeper. Let go of one worry, one fear, one anxious thought. Simply rest in the knowledge that the Prince of Peace is with you right now.
Action Step
Write down three things that are troubling your heart right now. After each one, write Jesus' words: 'My peace I give to you.' Carry this list with you today and read it whenever anxiety arises.
