Alcohol is a controversial topic in modern society. On the one hand, the drinking of alcohol leads to debauchery, drunk diving, redness of eyes, and sexually immoral activities.
On the other hand, alcohol consumption can be pretty innocent and even Biblical (think of Communion). Even Jesus Christ himself drank wine on occasions.
The effects of alcohol depend on a man's heart. What are the underlying intentions of drinking alcoholic beverages? Are you drinking sweet wine in honor of Jesus? Or are you planning to indulge in drunkenness orgies and beyond?
In today's bible study, we have read the Bible and selected the most relevant verses on God's alcohol stance.
Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:
I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.

For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
The act of drinking alcohol is neither good nor bad. It lies within the intention of the man or woman who is drinking. Unfortunately, humans suffer from a sinful nature. Sometimes, we let the effects of wine take us down into alcohol abuse. But as long as we do it in remembrance of the Lord Jesus Christ, there is no reason why we cannot drink.
